HAVEL & PARTNERS becomes the most successful Law Firm of the Year in history – winning the best local and most popular law firm for the sixth time in a row, as well as the Innovative Firm of the Year

In the 18th year of the Law Firm of the Year competition in 2025, we became the best local law firm in the Czech Republic for the sixth consecutive year and also won the award for the best client service. We also won a special award for innovative office. Our specialist teams won in the Asset Management and Competition Law categories.

In other professional categories, we rank among the highly recommended law firms (top tier). Based on the results of the Law Firm of the Year in 2025 and in all previous years, we remain the most successful and most comprehensive law firm in the CEE region, with a total of almost 70 awards in the Czech Republic and Slovakia as well as a number of nominations.

“This is historically our greatest success in this competition. We have repeatedly succeeded in being the best local and favourite law firm. This confirms that our long-term focus on the quality of service, stability and strategic business advice with added value is the right direction. Our success is built on a strong team and exceptional client relationships that have the nature of a true partnership, which we genuinely appreciate. Our clients give us, as their advisors, the space to be part of their business and story – and we strive to address their ambitions and goals with an understanding of the context, with precision, speed and focus, on their further development,” said managing partner Jaroslav Havel on the success in the competition.

In addition to the main and client prizes, we also won the special Innovative Firm of the Year award in 2025. With our technology law team, we contribute exceptional know-how in this area to our collaboration with clients. We help them to make meaningful use of new technologies within their business and we ourselves are extraordinarily active in implementing new technologies into our advisory services. As a result, we were also certified as a Law Firm of the Future in 2025, awarded for the first time by Legalweb.

HAVEL & PARTNERS once again among the 100 most valuable Czech companies according to the Czech Elite ranking

For the second time, the HAVEL & PARTNERS group ranked among the TOP 100 most valuable companies controlled by Czech owners according to the Czech Elite 2025 ranking, which was jointly compiled by Seznam Zprávy and Deloitte. The award confirms the group’s exceptional economic stability, long-term growth and strong position in the domestic and international professional services market.

“The fact that we have been ranked among the 100 most valuable Czech firms for the second year in a row, and indeed as the only law firm in the entire ranking, confirms our exceptional performance and the strength of the whole HAVEL & PARTNERS group. I believe this is the result of strategic management and a responsible approach by our entire team. Our success is attributable to our clients, many of whom have also been ranked. We appreciate the fact that thanks to our cooperation with them we can grow in the long term and become one of the leaders in Czech business,” said managing partner Jaroslav Havel.

With an estimated value of CZK 3.5 billion, HAVEL & PARTNERS holds the 99th place in the ranking. The Czech Elite ranking is compiled by the editors of Seznam Zprávy in cooperation with Deloitte based on the companies’ performance in the last closed fiscal year.

The power of women’s capital – a new era of wealth management

The global trend of shifting wealth into the hands of women is already evident in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, too, where women have an increasingly strong voice in managing their own and their families’ assets. This is shown by surveys conducted within the HAVEL & PARTNERS NextWomen project. It was the first to bring up the topic of women’s wealth growth and succession to the Czech and Slovak markets, and has won a number of PR awards, including four Lemur – Czech PR Awards.

Czech women are most often involved in managing their assets together with their partner. According to the NextWomen survey from 2023, 39% of women manage family finances jointly with their partners. Slovak women are more emancipated when it comes to property, according to the NextWomen 2025 survey. 38% of Slovak women responded that they manage their own assets exclusively, without the involvement of a partner.

Women approach investment and wealth management differently than men. Women generally take fewer risks and prefer certainty. They also care more about their money having a positive impact, for example, they are more likely than men to invest in education or sustainability. Women are also less likely to change strategy at the first market swing, preferring to stay disciplined and stick to their goals.

At the same time, women’s wealth is growing faster than ever. In Europe, according to McKinsey, female-controlled assets grew from $4.6 trillion in 2018 to $6.6 trillion in 2023, and by 2030, women are expected to control nearly half of all assets in the EU.

According to Jaroslav Havel, the transfer of wealth to women, which has been confirmed in the Czech Republic and Slovakia by the NextWomen survey, is part of the phenomenon of the transfer of wealth from builders to managers, which is well known in the Western world. “While until now entrepreneurs have built very successful businesses and increased their wealth enormously as they grew, their successors – often women – will seek to maintain the wealth and continue to manage it successfully so that the returns provide for their expanding families in the long term. The efficient management of assets will thus become more in line with the trend of managing family businesses through family office structures run by professional management, but still under the control of the family.”
