Strategic thinking, a personalised approach, a top-tier legal team, and long-term partnerships – these are not marketing slogans dreamed up by an advertising agency, but the corporate values we genuinely live by. They are an integral part of HAVEL & PARTNERS and reflect our entire history and our path to the top.

What purpose do these values serve?

Jim Collins, in his book Built to Last: Successful Habits of Visionary Companies – which, like many other top management bestsellers, we introduced to the Czech market – describes a company’s core values as principles that remain firm and enduring over time. His research shows that throughout history, the driving force behind America’s most successful corporations has not been the pursuit of maximum profit. Instead, it has been their commitment to values that transcend the firm’s immediate economic interests – values they consistently upheld for decades.

Our own values have been shaped over many years as well. Today, they are embedded in the DNA of our firm, in our lawyers, tax advisors, consultants and the entire back-office team. They help us stay on course in an ever-changing world, maintain sustainable high performance and guide us in strategic planning and the continued development of our firm. We discuss them regularly with colleagues and at internal meetings, explore their deeper meaning, and continually check whether we remain true to them. They form the foundation of our team’s long-term stability, and we place strong emphasis on them when recruiting new colleagues.

Building trust, loyalty and long-term relationships with clients takes time, effort, care and reliability. While partners come and go more frequently in large international law firms, our firm is built on exceptionally long-lasting cooperation. This year we celebrate 25 years, and our current partners have been with us for an average of 15 years. Many of them have been with us since their student days.

As a small law firm that built its success from the ground up, it was STRATEGIC THINKING that propelled us to the top of the Czech-Slovak legal market and it is STRATEGIC THINKING that has kept us there for many years. We apply the same approach to the benefit of our clients. We closely monitor developments in the market and the economy, both locally and globally. We analyse trends, evaluate data and think proactively about how to help our clients achieve their business ambitions.
