Against domestic violence

For the thirteenth time, we presented a charity cheque worth CZK 150,000 at the Lawyer of the Year Gala, held under the auspices of the Czech Bar Association and the Ministry of Justice. This time it went to the non-profit organisation ProFem, which helps victims of domestic and sexual violence. Thanks to ProFem, people find their way back to lead a full life without fear after bad experiences.

In our firm, we also try to raise awareness about this issue. As an employer, we joined the Charter against Domestic Violence and organised an internal educational workshop against domestic violence under the guidance of our experienced colleagues specialising in family law.

Various paces, but the same goal to help

Nearly 90 of our colleagues took part in charity runs, where they not only played sport but also helped those whose starting line has been shifted unfavourably in life. In Brno and then in Prague we participated in the traditional Night Run for Světluška, organized by Czech Radio’s Endowment Fund. Our more trained colleagues stood at the start of the Prague half marathon and with the entry fee we supported the Nábor hrdinů foundation, the Trend vozíčkářů Olomouc association, and the Aktivní Česko endowment fund, the Zdravotní klaun organization or Domov svatého Josefa in Dvůr Králové. We also ran in support of the Memory of the Nation, both in Prague and Brno.

Breakfast for all the money

The traditional charity breakfast was once again priceless! Some of our colleagues in Prague and Brno were cooking, baking, frying, and stirring hard. The second group of colleagues spent really generous sums on delicious goodies. From the proceeds, we supported three charitable organizations – Post Bellum with CZK 50,000, the AutTalk endowment fund with CZK 46,000, and the Světluška project of Czech Radio’s Endowment Fund with CZK 44,000.

At the charity breakfast in the Bratislava office, our colleagues also showed off with their culinary skills and contributed to a good cause. The total amount of EUR 800 went to children from the National Institute of Children’s Diseases in Bratislava.

Art helps

In Slovakia, the Forbes Top Covers fundraising event, which auctions works of art and experiences, is traditionally associated with helping non-profit organisations. HAVEL & PARTNERS donated EUR 4,000, which was divided equally between Liga za duševné zdravie (League for Mental Health), Deťom s rakovinou (To Children with Cancer), the Buddy association, and the Zmudri non-profit project.
