Family law by day, and after work, pralines like straight out of a Parisian patisserie. A life-changing detour to own bakery high up in the American mountains. From the ice hockey rink to our office – kind of by chance. These are the stories of our colleagues here at HAVEL & PARTNERS.
We have not only top-tier experts who handle complex transactions, represent clients in challenging cases, or help companies operate in a dynamic environment. On the occasion of our 25th anniversary, we’ve been featuring our colleagues in a series of interviews, showcasing them in a slightly different light and highlighting their stories, passions and talents that make them happy outside of work.

Joy in the raffle – helping where help is needed
It would not be enough, though, to just read about all that. So, at the office’s 25th-anniversary party, we moved our series Connected Through Joy a little further and turned our colleagues’ hobbies into prizes for a charity raffle, with the proceeds going to a good cause.
The offer included a chocolate-making workshop with Veronika Bočanová, baking with Michal Smrček, improving one’s swimming technique with Eva Jonáková, a ride on a tandem bike with cycling enthusiast Robert Neruda, a boat trip with Marek Lošan, and a sip of wine with colleagues from the legislative team. The raffle prizes also included products from the non-profit organisations we have long supported: Loono, Post Bellum – Memory of Nations, Krtek Foundation, and Světluška.
All 700 raffle tickets were sold in a flash at the party, and thanks to the generosity of our colleagues, we eventually managed to raise 153,380 crowns. The office matched that amount, and together, thanks to the raffle, we donated 306,760 crowns to DOMESTICI, an organisation dedicated to supporting palliative care.

Joy keeps bringing people together
But it didn’t end with the raffle. Joy is something you have to experience in the flesh. We are gradually turning the workshops won in the raffle into opportunities for colleagues from different teams to meet – colleagues who might not otherwise cross paths so often at work. Robert Neruda cycled along the Prague riverfront on a tandem bike with his colleagues. Swimmer Eva Jonáková took her teammates to the pool, and together they experienced the atmosphere of the European Masters Championships in Šamorín, Slovakia. Marek Lošan swapped his office for the captain’s bridge and showed his female colleagues Prague from river Vltava. Our legislation experts, together with their colleagues, set out to find out whether there really is truth in wine. Veronika Bočanová taught her colleagues how to make luxury chocolate pralines. And there are still more experiences in store for us.
